Whether you've had your Chihuahua for many years or you have just taken your first Chi home, they're going to be full of surprises which will keep you entertained as long as they live. While there are always exceptions, Chihuahua dogs are often possessive and protecting. Chis have been know to attack other much bigger dogs it's your responsibility, as an owner, to keep this from happening. A mate of mine lost her dog when another much bigger dog attacked him for no clear reason. Her dog was on a leash walking from her house to her car when this happened. Everyone knows our Chihuahuas are very like our youngsters so keep a protecting eye on him / her and be conscious of what's around you if your Chi isn't in your arms or a carrier. These are available in numerous styles and sizes.

Traveling With Your Chihuahua.
Many years back I lost a dog for 3 days. They were among the worst days of my life but I learned a valuable lesson. So, what are a selection of the things you can do to get ready for your trip with your Chi? I like a harness thanks to the Chihuahua's susceptibility to a fell down trachea. Also they are harder for the Chi to slide out of. Bring lots of bottled water for you and your Chihuahua. You do not want your Chi to drink any water that you cannot be one hundred percent certain is fit for consumption. Take your veterinary records and info with you. Place the paperwork in a sealable plastic bag to guard it from getting wet or damaged. This can be very useful if you have any emergencies along the path. Your Chihuahua could have an allergic reaction to something or have a surprising medical emergency. If this happens you may wish to be in a position to have fast contact with your own vet for recommendation. Be certain you have their emergency number, as well as their usual office number. In what appears like a particularly small dog, a personality the dimensions of a Great Dane appears.
